INTRODUCTION
In October of 2025, a friend and I set out for a day in Saguaro National Park, hiking the Kings Canyon trail to Wasson Peak. This hike is a perfect mix of challenge, views, and single-day-hikeability, and really captures the essence of the national park. Tucson gets about three hundred fifty days of sunshine a year, but on this hike, we were lucky enough to get caught in a monsoon, cooling us down and adding an extra bit of special character to our adventure. This is that story, in photos. (What is a photographic narrative?)
