INTRODUCTION
As always, you can view the photographic narrative for this story below. What is a photographic narrative?
After months of call shifts and fellowship applications and the beginnings of radiology board preparation, I finally found a free weekend to escape into the mountains. A friend and I started our day hike at the Sabino Canyon recreation area on the eastern side of Tucson, our access point into the Santa Catalina Mountains that border Tucson on the north. The plan for our hike was simple: hike for a few hours, find a spot to rest and relax, and then turn back toward the trail head, allowing our minds to reap the benefits of a day’s immersion in nature. The hike was simple, uneventful, and undeniably beautiful, just what we were after.
