After some house hunting in Tucson, we drove about five hours north until we hit the town of Tusayan, where we stayed for the duration of our time at the Grand Canyon. This town serves as the main access point for the South Rim, where most adventures into the canyon begin. Before we tackled the South Kaibab Trail, our first hike into the canyon was actually from Grandview Point to Horseshoe Mesa. But the day after this “warm up”, it was time to really explore the canyon from Rim to River, and back. And we did just that on the South Kaibab Trail.
