A recurring theme in my life is the need for exposure to natural stimuli. So, after a hard year of clinical rotations in medical school and a couple of months of hard studying for board exams, a short backpacking trip was in order. So, a friend and I headed to New River Gorge in West Virginia. The plan was simple: a one night out and back trip along a mountain stream.

We hiked slowly, taking breaks to hammock on the edge of the stream and truly immerse ourselves in the natural stimuli surrounding us. After one night of camping beside a small fire we packed up and headed home, feeling mentally refreshed and recharged. Below are some stills from a film I made of the experience.
