We began our trip on the Kona Coast, staying at an AirBnb in the hills about ten minutes from the heart of Kona. After a day of travel we kept things simple the first night, watching the sunset at the Old Kona Airport. Over the next few days, we explored the shops and restaurants along Ali’i Drive, hiked to Captain Cook Cove for some snorkeling, and toured two different coffee plantations (Mountain Thunder and Greenwell Farms). While staying in Kona, we began venturing south along the coast as well, but I’ll save that for the next post.
